PENANG HOKKIEN......

Was going to write this blog quite few weeks ago till now. Guess were being busy during past few weeks, it is nearly chinese new year & so gal like me sure do lots of shopping. It is so happen to get to know this site, it is during the journey to my gal fren's wedding dinner out of town when colid play his mp3 in the car.

"Qiang....tuk tutuk tuk tuk tuk tutuk" the mp3 started with instrument sound and a greeting from a guy in hokkien, a language that we (penangites) all very familiar with.

That how i start to get to know Penang Hokkien website, a site where a lots of podcast is getting on almost once a week and all the podcast will be upload to the site for YOU to listen to.....

What was all about this podcast? Well, the topic is no restriction, they could talk on any topics, even the "yellow" story or curse word and the way they talk, like no other just like how penangites talk lor...hee.....

The main talker/iniatiator have a cute name - Miku xxxx and of course with his guest, whoever that would like to share their experience with one condition, the person must talked & named their name in hokkien. Example of their names: Huat Kueh, Ang Mo Kin Cheow, EeBohLeng, Pong Paa & etc. Among the guest, i like Ah Tox the most... :-) but he is not a good guy, listen to topic - Pator if you wanna know Y...In there, u can just laugh whenever you hear Miku laugh...i can just tell you, get in there whenever u get bored, listen to their conversation, u sure got lots of fun...

But if you dun like to listen to those "chor/la sham" topic, i have a recommendation on certain topics that i found it is really funny and some are talking about ghost story*~*. Check the website out ya! http://www.penanghokkien.com

Ipoh...Ipoh...

As promise, i am blogging on the Ipoh food hunt with the same gang that attended the CC's wedding. :-) Not pretty much we had ate actually, we went to 富山for dim sum, the "siu mai" and "mo mai kai" was good and the "char shao pao" too.

Due to too full, we went to Jusco to burn our calories...Some of us had a great deal with our purchase items, of course end up as happy customer. After that, we heading to 旧街场 kopitiam, yeah! white coffee, my favourite drink lately...love it very much, taste so good! And we had "koay teow teng" and "ga choi kai" (in kantonis), the "koay teow teng" is similar to the one that we can have in Old Town @ anywhere. The "ga choi kai", mm.....just so so only....

Time to burn our calories again, we went to Perak Cave Temple. It is been a long time i didn't step in here, the temple is still as beautiful as it used to be.

With the little walk in Perak Cave Temple, we still felt full and we plan to head home. On the way we stop @ rest place and we are so lucky to meet the TVB celebrity - 食神，Man Tou. What else, we grab him for photo.....

After the photo shooting, Man Tou ask us whether we know his name, of course we do and he smile big as he scared we thought he is 蔡澜。 ；-） Also we found out later on, he is doing program @ Ipoh food hunt together with 官恩娜。 But we don't have chance to see her. :(



Well, it is really time for home, colid brought me home with his special car, a car that you hardly find nowadays. Remember when small and when u first learn to draw a car, ya that kind of car, square square one... Take a look!

My Gal Friend Wedding...

It is 3 days holiday on last weekend, it is also one of the big day for my gal fren, colid as well, CC's wedding which held @ Sungai Siput, Perak. Me & another 9 colids went over in 3 cars for her wedding celebration.

Colids was smart, didn't lost when on the journey to Sg. Siput but we U-turn for several times. *_* We start our journey from Juru tol @ 1pm and it took 1 hour to reach Kuala Kangsar and we had met the bride @ our accommodation, a house that not far from her house.

Due to still have plenty of time before the wedding dinner, we had some snack and do some shopping @ the boutique shop that we "found". After that, we take a short rest and started to get ourselves ready for the dinner that start @ 7pm, early ha? Ya, Sg. Siput wedding dinner start @ this early time. :-）

We really have a great dinner that night, do you believe that we had a total of 10 dishes served for the night? Ya, you didn't see wrongly and i didn't write wrongly. The dishes was in big portion except for 1 dish, so you can imagine that the food had filled up our stomach until our throat, hee...

The next day, we went to "keh poh" @ bride's house. Seem like we are the first guest, and the bridegroom reached so in time, but unbelievable thing is the PIC for open door task was not around, the bride's youngest brother. Pitty bridegroom, waited in the car, couldn't come out until 10.00am when the PIC is ready. After the bridegroom and his "heng tai" sastified the "ji mui" demandsssss, we were able to see our CC, she is so pretty in her gown, of course with her handsome white horse prince...:-)

Overall, we are glad being there for her big day as we really enjoy in her ceremony. We actually head to Ipoh on her wedding day for food hunting. <-- Wait for next blog for Ipoh food hunting ya!

Department Teambuilding 2008

It was my department teambuilding on last Saturday, at Paradise Sandy Bay. Woke earlier than the usual working day as need to practice team presentation for last round --> mix dance? funny + hip hop dance? Called it "capalang" dance..These are my team members - Viva :-)

And this is Wu Gui team, either their outfit or their dance, i like the most, great credit to you guys!

And we have Happy Dine team with snow not so white & witch. Pretty or disgusttttt..?

Games started, heat up with dances on the beach. Everyone was so happy and enjoy! Look at them, they are all dancing queens and kings!!! This pic made by my kai bro, i really like this photo combination, reflecting our joys and what else enjoyment. *V*

Bangkok & River Kwai Trip

四个ladies拿着luggages往着River Kwai 这个从未知道, 位于泰国西南部，接近缅甸的一条河。去之前，还在幻想哪儿会有“毛毛”的东西吗？只因那儿是第二世界大战的地方，上十万多人为了建筑Death Railway 而丧失了生命。

第一天，接近午餐时间就到达曼谷机场。搭了德士花了45分钟到达我们的酒店，Bangkok City Suite，是我的同事介绍的。房间还不错，很干净！

过后，开始shopping啦。一走出酒店门口，被一个热情地Tut Tut司机叫住了。一上车，司机很开心地与我们交谈，介绍我们那里好吃，他听说我们要去River Kwai，还叫我们怎样搭火车去，话可说个不停阿!从Pratunum在我们到MBK，等我们吃晚饭又载回Pratunum，只收40Bath,真是遇到好人呀！

隔一天，6点就起床了。Travel Agent已经在lobby等我们了。从曼谷坐巴士花了近三小时才到达River Kwai, 导游带领我们到River Kwai Bridge。走进去看，原来是火车路。这有五十年历史的桥，仍然稳稳的屹立在那儿让不同国家的游客参观。

桥下的景色是多么的诱人啊！

过后，我们到达了War Cemetery, 是一个纪念着在建造Death Railway 期间不幸逝死的战争奴人。这些奴人都是在第二世界大战后被关进监牢里的。有些都很年轻。

再过后，我们坐了travel agent 为我们安排的“长尾船”，用了接近一小时才到达我们早前上网预定的River Kwai Jungle Rafts。

这个浮在河面上的resort, 不！应该说世外桃源！我一眼就爱上这里了。：-）

这位姑娘就是我们这次River Kwai Trip的揭发者。；-）

忘了说，River Kwai Jungle Rafts 是没有电源的。可空气及气候都是清凉，一整天都不感觉到闷热。

这，这回归到大自然的感觉，实，实在太好了！

吃完泰式午餐，就出发到Hell Pass Fire Memorial。Hell Pass Fire其实是Death Railway 的其中一段火车路，使用人力来钻像山状坚固的石头所铺的路。由于当时日夜赶工，连晚上也点着火钻地，所以名为Hell Pass Fire。

回到River Kwai Jungle Rafts，开始玩水的时候了。嘿，转过来笑一笑！

河水好冷，看朋友玩水的那么自在，忍不住与另两个朋友也跳下水（慢慢的）。河的水一直流，蛮快的，一会儿把我们漂到不远处。每间房前的前院都有楼梯式的把柄，三个ladies像慌张的小鱼，怕被河流冲走，紧紧的捉住把柄。实在太淤了！

可，这位孩子不是玩得不亦乐乎吗？

我们River Kwai的导游 - Blai, 又年轻，又帅！

晚餐，同样的吃泰式，我们没选欧式的。吃饱后，与着来自Belgium的兄弟合照。哥哥好坏哦！

隔一天，平时爱赖床的我反而没呆在床上，很早就爬起来了。这应该是昨晚睡得好，的确非常宁静，只听到河流声。

早晨的风景好漂亮，山上有层层白白的雾，把它拍了下来。

早晨，我们参观Mon村。是处于Resort后的深林里。是由这条小竹桥通往乡村的。乡村里的孩子们只在这么一个敞开的小亭上课。他们个个都很乖巧。

过后，我们还乘坐火车通过悬崖呢！

第三天的傍晚，我们就浩浩荡荡的出发到曼谷的Hi-Sukhumit, 靠近Thong Lo的Sky Train station。那是一间便宜的学生宿舍。这都是因为我们想经历及体验外国的宿舍是如何的。

一进房间，超乎我们想象的，实在太小了。可我们还是住下来了。即来之，则安之嘛。

最难忘是当晚正要出门找吃时，雨却哗啦啦的下起来。肚子又饿，刚好朋友由雨伞，于是我与朋友一起走到街边的便利店。可路上淹水，我们俩的包鞋都湿透了。由于没带多一双鞋，刚好经过鞋店，就勉强买了一双拖鞋，伴我们走回宿舍。

Nah, 就是这双拖鞋啦！这将会是我们当晚的回忆。：-）

第四天，使shopping day! 隔一天很早，我们就回家乡啦。
